LGBQTIA2+ Affirming Services
Therapy
I offer LGBTQIA2+ affirming therapy in Anchorage, Alaska, for individuals navigating identity, relationships, trauma, and the impact of living in systems that haven’t always made space for you.
I'm queer and largely unattached to rigid concepts of gender.
Therapy should be a place where you don't have to defend who you are.
You may know that nothing is wrong with you but the way the world responds to you can absolutely shape how you experience yourself. Many people carry the impact of invalidation, rejection, subtle or overt harm, or years of feeling like they had to hide parts of who they are to stay safe or accepted.
That can show up as anxiety, self-doubt, difficulty trusting yourself, challenges in relationships, or feeling disconnected from your identity altogether.
Therapy isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about creating space to understand yourself more fully, untangle what’s yours versus what was placed on you.
Some of the things we might explore include:
- Identity exploration (gender, sexuality, or both)
- Internalized shame or self-criticism
- Coming out (or choosing not to)
- Relationship dynamics and attachment patterns
- Family-of-origin experiences
- Religious or cultural trauma
- Navigating systems that don’t feel safe or affirming
I'm committed to creating a safe, affirming space for folks in targeted communities. I'm also happy to offer referrals to other queer-affirming therapists if we're not the right fit.
Gender-Affirming Assessments
I provide gender-affirming assessments for individuals seeking hormone replacement therapy (HRT), gender-affirming surgeries, or other gender-affirming medical interventions when a letter of support is requested by a medical provider or insurance company.
My assessments are collaborative, respectful, and affirming. My goal is to provide thoughtful clinical documentation while minimizing unnecessary barriers to care.

No. Receiving a gender-affirming assessment does not require that you be engaged in ongoing psychotherapy with me.
Typically, gender-affirming assessments are completed in a single appointment, unless otherwise requested by you or there is a clinical justification for additional appointments (which we would discuss in detail).
-
If your physician, surgeon, or other medical provider has specific wording or formatting requirements, please provide those before your appointment whenever possible.
-
Minor revisions requested by your medical provider are included in the assessment fee.
If you have questions or would like to schedule an assessment, please contact me by text or email. I am happy to answer questions about the assessment process! I typically do not have a waitlist for these services since I can usually achieve them in one appointment.
